In This Tutorial, we shall quickly know how to illustrate a Virtual Match Stick Burning:
- Create a match stick
- Create a path using the curved pen tool to convert it to a flame
- Convert Path to a flame
- Create timeline for a burning match stick

Step 1, Create a match stick
- Start A new Photoshop Project 1000X1000px and 72pixels/inch
- Use the Paint Bucket
to fill it with white color
- Create a new layer using ctrl+shift+n or menu>layer>new>layer
- Select the rectangle tool
- Draw a slim Triangle and center it from the top tool bar
or just drag it to the center
- From the top tool bar change the color to the first degree of Pale, select it from the Fill option drop down
or menu>Windows>properties and no outline or stroke
- Create a new layer using ctrl+shift+n or menu>layer>new>layer
- Select the curved pen tool from the side tool bar
- Make sure that shape is selected and not path
- and draw a closed nearly round path around the top of the match stick we had just created as in Figure 1-1
- Select stroke none and fill red
result as Figure 1-2
- Now duplicate this layer using ctrl+j. click the pen tool again and select fill as black from the top tool bar see Figure 1-3



Step 2, Create a path using the curved pen tool to convert it to a flame
- Create a new layer using ctrl+shift+n or menu>layer>new>layer
- Select the Curved Pen Tool
- Select the PATH from the top tool
- Draw a path around the match stick head that looks like a flame as in Figure 2-1

Step 3, Convert Path to Flame
- To convert path to a flame, menu>Filter>Render>Flame
- Use the settings in Figure 3-1
- Flame Type: 5-Multiple Flames
- Height 70
- Randomize height
- Width 47
- Angle 50
- Interval 21
- To create flames around the bath
- Then click v and move the flame to center it around the match stick head and resize it
- Result is in Figure 3-2
- Create a new layer using ctrl+shift+n or menu>layer>new>layer
- Use settings in Figure 3-3 to try different effects of the flame
- Flame Type: 5-Multiple Flames
- Width 147 to close the middle of the flame
- Then click v and move the flame to center it around the match stick head and resize it
- Result is in Figures 3-4
- use the
beside the relevant flame layer to display one of them only
- Then click Delete to delete the path




Step 4, Create timeline for a burning match stick
- Go to menu>Windows>Timeline to open Video Time line bottom panel and select Video Timeline
- Expand the red layer time line settings
- Confirm that the frame pointer is at the 0.0
- Select the opacity settings
- Confirm that red layer opacity is 100 from the layers panel
- Click the diamond to generate a main frame
- Move the frame pointer to the end of time line at 5.0
- Change red Layer Opacity to 0%
- A new main frame will be generated automatically
- Expand the black time line settings
- While the frame pointer is at the end, click the diamond beside the opacity of the black layer to generate a main frame
- Return the pointer to 0.0
- Change black Layer opacity to 0%
- A new main frame will automatically be generated

- Now select the flame that you would like to create the animation with.
- Hide the other flame by clicking the eye icon beside it
- Convert the selected flame layer to smart object, menu>Layer>Smart Objects>Convert to Smart Object
- Expand the flame layer
- Drag the frames pointer
- to the timeline end at 5.0
- Click the small stop watch beside transform
- drag the pointer to 0.0
- ctrl+t to open free transformation
- make sure that w and H are linked
- Change w to 10 % and drag it to the center of the stick head
- Click ENTER
- A new Key frame will be added
- Hit play and enjoy
